There are far too many clothing print designs on the market that are flat out rubbish. From the mass-produced brands to the high-fashion elite, they spend little time on composition, design integrity and artfulness. We are lucky here at wild peach clothing; we have our self-professed art genius, Bert Ernie. Well, that is what he tells us.

One afternoon we were having a discussion about what is decidedly ‘just not the done thing’ with men’s clothing. We came up with – pink colors, flowers and outrageously bold designs. So we put it to Bert, “can you come up with something that challenges all three.”

“Sure can!” was his reply.

A week later Bert shows up at the office with a 5¼-inch floppy disk with his new design files and opens them on our 35-year-old PC we keep just for him. To our surprise, he has got it spot on – except for the ‘wild banana’ bit. When we ask him about it, he answers, “well you can’t have men getting around town with your usual logo – wild peach on it. People will think they are gay. So I substituted it for – wild banana.” We are shocked, we don’t know what to say. He designs such beautiful things but…..

As per usual, an argument ensues. Bert is adamant that if the men’s leggings have a wild banana logo instead of a wild peach logo, then nobody will think they are gay. The argument got so heated it ended up in a fist fight and was ended when our secretary knocked him out with a big right uppercut.

Eventually he came too, and we felt bad for the silly old fool and payed him the usual fee for a design – $10, and sent him on his way.
