Carnival Column — blue, but not as you know it

Denim blue is the color humanity collectively agreed on decades ago. Reliable. Versatile. The one that goes with everything. And then the Carnival Column arrived down the right leg and changed the conversation entirely.

Carnival Column is an original digital artwork by Melbourne artist Bert Ernie — a tightly packed vertical column of abstract forms, layered and translucent, dense with color and movement. The design runs from hip to hem down the right leg, with the front and rear panels cut from the same print and sewn together at the side seam, mirroring each other to create a totem-pole effect that looks like it was carved there. Tucked into the design is the wild peach logo in matching denim blue, with a subtle 3D effect that rewards anyone who looks closely enough.

Against the denim blue base, the warm tones in the design — corals, oranges, yellows — glow with particular intensity. The pinks and magentas pop. The whole composition feels energetic and alive in a way that only a cool blue base can produce — it’s the contrast doing the work, and it does it brilliantly.
